Grand Rapids Fireworks are Back & Bigger for 2026
Grand Rapids’ Fourth of July fireworks celebration is Saturday, July 4, 2026, and this year it’s leveling up in more ways than one.
Not only are organizers promising a bigger, louder fireworks show with an amped up finale for America’s 250th birthday, and there are few key things you’ll want to know about:
- the main viewing area has moved and will NOT be at Ah-Nab-Awen Park
- there is a brand new way to watch: from the new Acrisure Amphitheater with the Grand Rapids Symphony
If you have gone in previous years, expect this one to feel like an upgrade all around. The celebration is honoring America’s 250th and the City of Grand Rapids’ 175th anniversary, so the whole night is leveling up across the board.

Ah-Nab-Awen Park is Closed, Main Viewing Moved to 51 Market Ave
Don’t put your fireworks traditions on autopilot this year. Because of the ongoing river restoration project, Ah-Nab-Awen Park is temporarily closed.
This year, the the main viewing will be at the Amway Employee Parking lot (51 Market Ave SW) and the fireworks will launch from Fulton Street Bridge.

All of the music, food, and activities will be at the 51 Market Street Main Viewing Area location.
You can also catch the show from:
- Pearl Street Bridge
- Blue Bridge
- Other downtown riverfront spots
What to Expect at the Main Viewing Area
The fun at the main viewing area (51 Market Ave SW) starts at 6 PM with music, food vendors, family activities, and the Meijer Family Fun Zone.
The Greenbridge Band takes the stage at 7:45 PM and the National Anthem is performed at 10:25 PM.
Then it’s time for the main event: fireworks light up the sky at 10:30 PM.

Rules and restrictions
- No alcohol: Alcohol, including social district cups, is not allowed in the 51 Market Ave, Pearl Street Bridge, or Blue Bridge viewing areas.
- No glass: Glass bottles are prohibited in those same viewing zones.
- No pets: Pets are not permitted in the designated viewing areas (51 Market, Pearl, Blue Bridge)
- Bags/coolers: Large coolers and bags are discouraged; all coolers and bags are subject to search by event security and Grand Rapids Police
Watch the Fireworks from the Amphitheater, Picnic Pops Style – New this Year
For a few bucks, you can turn the Grand Rapids fireworks into a full-on night out at the new Acrisure Amphitheater, Picnic Pops style.

Pack your own picnic (yes, outside food and non‑alcoholic drinks are allowed for this special event), and have a good time at the Happy Birthday, America concert put on by the Grand Rapids Symphony.
They’ll play patriotic favorites by Aaron Copland, Duke Ellington, John Williams, and more.
