Fork Yeah! Grand Rapids Foodie Fest Is Back and Your Weekend Just Got Delicious
If your ideal summer weekend involves ridiculously good food, you’ve gotta hit the Grand Rapids Foodie Fest.

Come Hungry, Like….Really Hungry
You know that feeling when you say, “I’ll just grab one thing,” and somehow you end up carrying tacos, lemonade, fried cheese curds and a dessert tray?
Well welcome to the Grand Rapids Foodie Fest. Where Grand Rapids’ Best Food Trucks and Vendors come together in one spot.
The city’s tastiest summer festival is back, 5 years running. And it’s at the Calder Plaza for three delicious days. The perfect way to plan your weekend around what you’re going to eat.
The festival runs:
– Friday: 3 PM – 10 PM
– Saturday: 11 AM – 10 PM
– Sunday: 12 PM – 6 PM
And here is the list of eats that will be available this year.

Your Nose is Going to Make All the Decisions
The second you get close to Calder Plaza, you’re going to smell it before you see it.
Smoky barbecue. Fresh cut fries. Sweet funnel cakes. Sizzling tacos. Garlic. Cinnamon & sugar. Fresh lemonade. It’s like you’re stomach grabs the steering wheel and says, “we are eating here.”
More than 50 food trucks and vendors will be serving up everything from comfort classics to global flavors, loaded snacks, decadent desserts and those wildly over the top creations that make heads turn and people ask, “what is that?”
Spoiler – you’ll probably buy one.

Good Luck Deciding What to Eat First
This is the kind of festival where every ten steps someone walks by carrying something that suddenly becomes your new plan. “I was going to get bbq, (walks five more feet) nah, I need those tacos, (smells lobster mac and cheese) Wellllllll.”
Decision fatigue has never tasted so good though.
Pro tip: Bring someone who’s willing to split food. You’ll double the number of things you get to try and cut your food FOMO in half.

It’s Not Just Eating
Need a breather between bites? You’ll also find local artisan vendors, live music, dance performances and a beer garden for anyone 21 and older.
It’s the perfect excuse to spend an afternoon downtown, even if your only real itinerary is to wander until something smells amazing.

The Hype
If you’ve peeked at social media or local chatter, the consesnus is pretty clear: people love that GR Foodie Fest is free, family friendly and packed with local food vendors you don’t always get to try in one place.
The advice is, don’t show up full. And maybe skip breakfast. Also, expect lines during the busiest meal times. But that’s also a great indicator that you’re in the right place.

One Last Bite
Grand Rapids has a lot of great summer festivals, but this one speaks directly to the people whose camera rolls are 90% pictures of food.
Whether you’re chasing the best food truck, trying something you’ve never heard of, or simply looking for an excuse to spend a sunny day downtown, Foodie Fest delivers.
So wear stretchy pants. Bring friends. Pace yourself and save room for dessert!
