Add Raven’s Antiques Shop to Your Treasure-Hunting List

Oh boy, Grand Rapids just got 50+ new reasons to go digging for old stuff.

Raven’s Antiques (1750 Clyde Park SW) is now open, with 56 local antique and collectible vendors all setting up shop under one roof.

And that means there’s a LOT to poke around in. We’re talking themed displays, fun photo setups, events on the calendar and, of course, booth after booth of stuff to dig through.

Each vendor curates their own space, so one booth might pull you in with legit antiques while the next has vintage clothes, retro toys, records, pop-culture collectibles or something weird you absolutely did not come in looking for.

That’s kind of the point. This place is made for wandering and doing double-takes.

With so many mini-shops, the inventory is always changing, every booth has its own personality, and your next visit will probably look completely different from your last one.

So, what’s Raven’s actually like to shop? Here’s what to know before you go.

A Little Raven’s Backstory

Raven’s is the brainchild of husband team Jeremy Schnotala and Erick Gerson Rodríguez.

They took their shared love of antiques, history and the thrill of the hunt and ran with it.

The name has a little backstory, too. One of the owners is a teacher and Edgar Allan Poe fan, hence Raven’s. And once you know that, the slightly moody Victorian look at the front of the store makes a whole lot more sense.

That front space belongs to the owners themselves and changes with the seasons, while keeping its Victorian bent.

Beyond that, you’ve got 50+ vendors doing their own thing. Raven’s is one of several spots around Grand Rapids, including Elevated Market, where vendors essentially get a mini-shop inside a bigger shop.

But Raven’s has definitely put its own stamp on the idea.

They Really Went for It With the Displays

Forgive us for going a little overboard here, but you can tell these guys LOVE what they do.

There is so much thought and care packed into this place.

Flair is one word that comes to mind. Curated is another. And wow, do they know how to work a theme.

Every room, every booth, every little grouping seems to have its own character. One minute you’re looking at a moody Victorian setup, then you turn a corner and you’re somewhere completely different.

Some vendors have basically built little worlds around their stuff.

So yes, Raven’s is an antique store. And yes, it’s a collection of vendor booths. But the presentation takes the whole thing up a notch.

Even if you don’t buy a thing, walking around and taking it all in is part of the fun. Your eyeballs are going to be busy in here.

You’re Probably Going to Have to Come Back

Another fun tidbit: Raven’s likes to change up more than the merchandise.

They go pretty hard on seasonal displays, including an entire Halloween-themed room in September.

So even if you’re not currently hunting for that one special thing from your childhood, there’s plenty of decorating inspo to be found here.

And with 56 vendors restocking and rearranging their own spaces, this isn’t really a see-it-once-and-you’ve-seen-it kind of place.

Keep an eye on Raven’s social accounts for new arrivals, featured booths, seasonal setups and other reasons to suddenly decide you need to go antique shopping again.

Meet the People Behind the Booths

Raven’s also hosts Vendor Nights, when some of the people behind those 56 booths hang out at the store.

It’s your chance to find out who unearthed that weird thing you’re holding, ask questions, get the story behind a find or just meet some of the local collectors and small-business owners filling the place.

Between Vendor Nights, new finds, seasonal displays and whatever else they dream up next, there’s usually something happening here.

Social is the place to watch for what’s coming up.

Want Your Own Booth at Raven’s?

Maybe you’re reading this from the other side of the antique hunt and thinking, “Actually, I have a knack for this and a house full of stuff I should be selling.”

Apparently, you’re not the only one. Vendor space is in demand, and Raven’s has a waiting list for people interested in setting up shop here.

And honestly, it makes sense that they’re a little choosy. This kind of curation doesn’t just happen.

The application asks what you sell, what era or niche you specialize in, where else you currently sell and how much experience you have. You can also send photos of a current or past booth or display, which feels especially relevant after seeing how much personality goes into these spaces.

After you apply, Raven’s reviews your info and will reach out about availability, the vendor contract and next steps if there’s a fit and space available.

One thing you won’t find online: booth sizes, rental rates, fees and other contract details. You’ll need to get those directly from Raven’s.
