The Forecast? 100% Chance of Fun at Holland’s New Ice Park!
Holland Michigan’s NEW Ice Park Is Here!
If you visited Holland this year, you may have caught a glimpse of the cool new ice park being built near Window on the Waterfront. Holland’s outdoor Ice Park is the coolest place for ice skating, curling, and winter fun for everyone.
Just off 6th Street and College Avenue, construction is finally done – opening day is Friday, November 14, 2025!
Holland’s Ice Park is bringing a whole new kind of fun to downtown Holland and we’re adding it to the top of our favorite things to do in Holland list.

Open Skate Tickets & Curling Sheet Reservations Now Available!
The Holland Ice Park Grand Opening celebration is on Friday, November 14, 2025 with the first public open skate session at 6 PM.
Space is limited to prevent over-crowding, and all tickets and reservations must be purchased online in advance, so don’t wait! Get your tickets before you go!
Open Skate Tickets: $10 per person, which includes skate rental. And they’ve got 400 pairs of brand new skates ready and waiting for you.

Your New Winter Happy Place Is Here
The Ice Park is connected to nature, located at Window on the Waterfront, but it’s also connected to Downtown Holland. You can see the lights from 8th Street – and believe me when I tell you they’ll draw you in like a moth to the flame.
The Ice Ribbon is a long, looping path made for skating that winds through the park, so you’ll feel like you’re going on a trail rather than skating around in circles.

The Ice Park is open just in time for the all new Dutch Winterfest.
There’s also a curling area, huge fire pits with seating all around, heated sidewalks (a nod to downtown Holland), and a plaza with skate rentals, restrooms, and concessions.

It’s Ice Park Season
At the center of the project is a large ice rink connected to a looping ribbon, all refrigerated so the ice stays solid from November through March.
Even if the weather gets weird (hello, Michigan), the rink will be ready.

The main building has a sheltered seating area with tables and benches.
When the rolling garage doors are closed, you’re protected from the wind, but can still see through the glass.
When the doors are rolled open the space can be used for more seasons, providing shade, or cover for activities and classes in all seasons.

In the warmer months, the park will switch gears and host recreation programs and community events. There’s even terraced seating where you can watch summer concerts, or hold a yoga class.
A Longtime Dream
The idea of having an ice rink downtown has been floating around for years, and now, with modern refrigeration and strong community support, it’s finally happening.
Major donors like the Jim Jurries Family and retired teacher Frank Kraai helped turn the vision into a real project. Kraai’s gift alone topped $1 million.

Window on the Waterfront is already a go-to for tulip views, walking trails, and a nature playground. This new Ice Park and Skating Ribbon will make it even more popular.
Enjoy dinner at Big Lake Brewery, grab a beverage to go (Holland has a social district), hit the ice for a 90-minute session (as long as you booked tickets ahead of time), then end your visit in a Holland area hotel.
We can’t wait to skate under the lights at new Holland Ice Park. Will we see you there?
