The Tag Tour is a free, self guided smartphone tour that lets you explore downtown in a totally interactive way.
You’ve got two routes to pick from:
– History Tour
– Art Around the Corner Tour
Each stop features a QR code you scan to unlock fun facts, photos and stories about the city.
Boom – built-in conversation starters all night long.
Pro tip: This is not a strict itinerary. Start wherever you want, go out of order, skip around – it’s your night.
Kick things offf near the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum and make your way toward one of the most playful stops: the oversized red button sculpture (Lorrie’s Button”).
It’s quirky, it’s iconic – and yes, you can climb on it. Selfie please!
This isn’t your typical “walk and talk” date. It’s interactive, a little goofy, and surprisingly memorable.
Make your way across the Gillette Bridge and don’t skip Motu Viget – aka the giant tire swing.
It takes a little effort to get it moving, but that’s kind of the point. Teamwork, laughter, and maybe a little competition? Who can make it go the highest?

As you continue the Art Tour, you’ll pass some downtown’s most recognizable spots:
– La Grande Vitesse (aka “The Calder”)
– Rosa Parks Circle
– Blue Bridge
– Sculptures, riverfront views and hidden gems you’ve probably walked past before without noticing
Even if you’ve seen these places before, the QR code stops add context that makes everything feel new again.
The full route takes about two hours, but the beautfy of this date is flexibility.
