It doesn’t matter what the weather is when you hit the virtual links at X-Golf.

Using state of the art technology, you can easily get a round in without ever having to replace a divot. X-Golf has six simulators as well as food service. You can bring your own clubs, or rent from them as well.

Rates range from $35-$55/hour depending on when you book your tee time for. Expect to need two hours for two golfers to complete 18-holes.

11: Move Those Hips at a Swing Dancing Meetup

Unfortunate acronyms aside, the Grand Rapids Original Swing Society, keeps the beat hopping with their weekly dance gatherings around the city. On Tuesdays you can find them dancing away at the GR Public Museum or GR Ladies Literary Club, and on Wednesdays at Calvin University.

If you aren’t a member, entry is only $6 and includes a short lesson at the start of the evening so you can learn how to Lindy hop, jitterbug, and west coast swing with the best. Check their website for the latest list of gatherings.

I’m not sure what made Robin Hood’s men so merry, but maybe it had something to do with shooting arrows. Find out at the West Michigan Archery Center where you can try your hand at either their indoor range, or in warmer months take on their outdoor 3D course which will have trekking through the forest and taking aim at over two dozen mapped out targets (like disc-golf only more pointy).

Open shooting is $10/person, and equipment maybe rented for an additional $10 if you don’t have your own.

13: Make Waves at Action Wake Park

First time rider? NBD. Action Wake Park is where you go when you don’t own a boat but really wonder what it’s like to wakeboard or waterski. How does it work? Basically, you hook into a cable system that pulls you (just like a boat would) around the lake.

Lessons and equipment are onsite and they’ll make sure you and your date have a great experience while literally getting your feet – and the rest of yourself – wet. Grab a drink on their patio and play lawn games when it’s time for a break.

They’re open late spring – early fall. Follow their FB page for specials, otherwise expect to invest $35 for a 2-hour pass (equipment rental is additional.) If you’re new to the sport, sign up for one of their Learn to Ride sessions for just $15.

14: Scramble Through the Treetops

Take a bunch of obstacles that would be challenging on the ground and put them 40-feet in the air and you have an adventure.

Any one of the seven obstacle routes at TreeRunner Adventure Park will get your blood pumping but for people really looking for a test, head for the Red Course where we’ll see if you can defeat the Taco Nest, Earthquake Swings, and the Junkyard. Everyone else, have fun on the pink, yellow, and blues. Swinging through the trees is for almost everyone, especially when you go on Glow Night.

Pretty sure that skydiving counts as ridiculously adventurous. And it’s an option for you, Grand Rapidian.

Take the love of your life (and about $250 pp) and head to the lakeshore at Skydive Grand Haven.

You’ll see Lake Michigan like never before – starting with a 20 minute scenic ride (where you can properly panic) followed by an exit from the plane at 10,000 ft (nearly two miles above ground.) Initially, expect to reach speeds up to 120 mph during free fall. Once your parachute opens you glide over the canopy for 5-10 more minutes. What I wanna know is, how do they land this thing??!
