One of my favorite ways to bring food to a potluck or party is to buy something delicious from someone else (like one of these local artisans), and then put it on a pretty plate for killer presentation. Don’t worry – when people ooh and aah, I don’t take credit for the food – I tell them where the treats came from.

But having it on a festive plate or platter gives it that extra special touch. It turns the stressful task of making something special for a potluck or teacher into an exciting activity. You find a locally made treat, find a fun gift box or plate, and your job is done!
